Celebrating Holi can be a lot of fun, but it’s important to stay safe while enjoying the festivities. Here are some safety precautions to keep in mind:
Precautions to be taken in the Plants:
- Consumption of alcohol increases during the festival of colours- Holi. Check whether alcohol tester is in working condition, if faulty arrange for immediate replacement. Each and every driver and contractor employee coming inside plant need to be compulsorily checked at gate for consumption of alcohol.
- We should avoid high risk jobs during Holi.
General Precautions
- Use Natural Colors: Opt for natural or herbal colors to avoid skin allergies and irritation. Chemical-based colors can be harmful. Do not inhale “Gulal” as it may aggravate the problem of Asthma and respiratory disorder. Avoid water balloons as it may cause injuries.
- Protect Your Eyes: Wear sunglasses to protect your eyes from coloured powders and water balloons. If colour gets into your eyes, rinse them immediately with clean water. Avoid using contact lens while playing Holi.
- Stay Hydrated & Weasr Comfortable Clothing: Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated, especially if you’re out in the sun for long periods. Choose old, comfortable clothes that cover most of your body to minimize skin exposure to colors.
- Be Mindful of Others: Respect others’ boundaries and avoid forcing anyone to participate if they don’t want to. Also, be gentle while applying colors.
- Keep Emergency Contacts Handy: Have a list of emergency contacts and a first aid kit available in case of any accidents.
- Avoid celebrating under the influence of Bhang and drinks containing alcohol.
- Drive Safely: If you’re traveling, be cautious on the roads as there might be people playing Holi on the streets. Don’t drink and drive and don’t ride with anyone who has consumed alcohol, Bhang & Ganja.
- Children should be supervised & monitored while playing Holi.
Protect yourself and others when you drive
- Always use a safety seat belt. Never drive when fatigued.
- The dangers posed when fatigued are similar to those when intoxicated.
